The corner kicker is awarded to the attacking team when the ball leaves the field of play by crossing the goal line. A goal kicker get a free kick in soccer that is awarded to a defensive team when the ball has been driven out of bounds over the goal line by an opponent. The throw in soccer is a method of restarting play once the ball has gone out. The whole of the ball must pass over the touchline, either on the ground or in the air. The throw must be taken from where the ball went out of play. It goes to the team who did not put the ball out of play.
Types of Skills To use when playing Soccer (football) HOW TO THROW IN: Throw over your head on to the field, bending your back more for power. To enhance your throw, remember to: Drag the toes of the rear foot when taking the throw. Point elbows out to the sides. Follow through with the throw.
Types of Skills To use when playing Soccer (football) Heading – when you hit the ball with your head. Remember how the ball hurt your head the first time you tried heading it? That's most likely because you let the ball hit your head and not vice versa. Dribbling – using your feet in order for the ball to move on the field. You kick the ball with your side foot. step over skill, rolling over the ball and allowing it to go between your legs. Be careful not to take the ball too far wide. The idea is to beat the opponent while maintaining as straight a path as possible. Tackling-Never charge at the ball unless you are absolutely sure that you will get it. If the enemy has the ball in control at his feet you must contain him. To contain (or jockey) your opponent means to position yourself in front of him and wait until he releases the ball far enough for you to intercept it. Some dribblers will move the ball without providing you with adequate time for a tackle. All you can do in such cases is remain between the ball carrier and your own goal.
Goalkeeper-The name comes from the positioning of the keeper's hands. The index finger and thumb on both of his hands are locked at about 45 degrees. His hands are put next to each other, forming the letter W. Ideally, the index fingers should not be perpendicular but pointing slightly inward. Using your chest to pass the ball –Balls directed below shoulder level (or dropping balls) are handled by cushioning it from below. Similarly to handling a baby, the keeper must cushion the ball from underneath, pressing it against his chest. TYPES OF KICKS: Lounge – kick the ball with all your might (stretching out your leg while kicking) Fake Kick – you pretend to kick the ball when you actually push it behind you to protect it. Shooting- When you kick the ball in order to score a goal Punting – having the ball off the grass and its balanced on your toe Juggling- When your actually trying to move the ball up and down on your feet
