4  A large number of murders committed in Sydney using Thallium based rat poison  September 1952 Yvonne Gladys Fletcher  tried for the murder of her was charged and tried for the murders of both her first husband, Desmond Butler and her abusive second husband, Bertrand Fletcher. Sentenced to death.  October 1952, Ruby Norton was tried for the murder of her hated son-in-law, Allen Williams. Acquitted.
