6 According to whether luminous material In EL lighting product contains carbon or not, it is clearly to differentiate between Non organic EL and Organic EL(or OLED). If the luminous material contains carbon element then it is defined as the Organic EL(or OLED), otherwise, Non Organic EL. The whole surface area of It illuminates so that it emits light evenly comparing to LED which has a point light source. There are significant merits in using EL as a light source, such as that it lasts very long time, there is no heat generation while it illuminates, and it has very good flexibility without any damage. Contrastively, OLED has merit to display video easily due to rapid respond speed and various color. 14 14 Possible Scenario on Application of Our Belite with facts KOELTEC The Company for Eco-Lighting Working Scenario: Replacing All fluorescent light bulbs for lighting during night time in Korea Estimated Number of Signboards using the fluorescent light bulbs nationwide in Korea: 5.2 Million units It consumes about 6.78million KWh(8.8%) of electric power out of Maximum Power Supplying Capacity of 77million KWh(100%) at a night in our country. Consequently, this amount of power consumption needs at least 7 Nuclear power plants(1million KW class same as New “Wolsong nuclear power plant” capacity) in Korea. This number tells lighting using fluorescent light bulbs covers 86.4% of total lighting during the night time a day in Korea. In the simplest application DC power is fed from an adaptor, plugged into a source of household current, to a single inverter. The inverter then converts the DC power to the appropriate level of AC power for an EL application. The brightness of a display can then be controlled by adjusting the frequency of the AC power. Animated or flashing displays require a driver to operate. A driver is simply an inverter connected to an IC chip which is then connected to several different EL sheets, panels, tapes or decals. As different lamps are illuminated, they produce an animated effect.

30 30 How and Where to Use Electroluminescence KOELTEC The Company for Eco-Lighting EL provides a cool, continuous, even light that can be shaped into stripes, strips, and geometric figures. Strips can run for several meters, with only one connection to a power source. Shapes can be illuminated with different colors and with flashing, animated effects. And EL panels are lamps. They radiate gently, without glare, and can be used anywhere light is needed. Buildings can be outlined. Entire walls can glow with light. Ceilings can become skies. Staircases can become shining sets of steps. Windowless rooms can suddenly have windows --- with views. Add EL panels that flash, blink, stack up or stack down and the creative possibilities are endless. EL becomes an imaginative, artistic medium offering color, motion and light as tools to inspire, educate and entertain. EL can be used with furniture, wall hangings, room trim and fixtures to uniquely enhance the appearance of any space. EL will highlight a product or advertising message more effectively than any other form of light.
