On 18th of December 2014 we welcomed Mrs Vierka Škurková at our school who gave us an interesting lecture about yoga and her travelling experience around India where yoga comes from.
She gave a talk on very interesting facts about eating habits in India: The main substances are rice, spices, herbs, vegetable and fruit.
In many parts of India, banana leaves are used as plates (it is more ecological ).
A lot of Indians prefer to eat food with their hands (connection with God).
If they feel like eating sweets, they prefer dried fruit or cane sugar.
At the end of the meal, the Indians chew some herbs: cardamon, fennel or cloves. It helps the stomach to digest and even protects teeth.
Thali is a traditional Indian home made food. It sa a platter with little bowls consisting of a wide variety of different dishes.
Indian food is sometimes very spicy. When you put the spicy food in your mouth and it starts burning, the best advice is to try some yoghurt.
The Taj Mahal represents the finest and the most sophisticated example of Mughal architecture.
We would like to say „Thank you“ to Mrs Vierka Škurková for her interesting lecture, it was very inspiring for us and at the end of the lecture she shared a very nice idea with the students: NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS ! !!
World Cancer Day is marked on February 4 each year to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. There are different symbols that are used to help promote the fight against different types of cancers. For example, the pink ribbon is a symbol of breast cancer, while the orange ribbon is a symbol of child cancer. At our school we decided to remember this day by giving pink ribbons to pupils and teachers. World Cancer Day
