In the next 50 years the world population is expected to increase by 2 billion If each of those new 2 billion individuals uses one 50W light bulb 50x = 100,000,000,000W = 100GW of more energy consumption to account for

11 Alternative Design #2 Clockwise Free Rotation Freewheel or overrunning clutch is a device in a transmission that disengages the driveshaft from the driven shaft when the driven shaft rotates faster than the driveshaft In the oscillation of the buoy, the alternator will only be engaged in the downward motion of the lever, therefor producing a constant direction in rational motion Counter Clockwise Locked Rotation

12 PMA Alternator In a permanent magnet generator, the magnetic field of the rotor is produced by permanent magnets. Other types of generator use electromagnets to produce a magnetic field in a rotor winding Can also produce energy in both rotations

Spur and helical gear reducers are the best candidates for use as a speed increase Spur gear speed reducer may be used as a speed increaser within the same speed and power range for which it is rated as a speed reducer

14 Alternative Design #3 Similar technology to the Beta Stirling Engine
A piston attached to a buoy will move up and down by the oscillating motion of the waves housed in a thin, light cylindrical structure The piston will be pinned to a large gear, housed in a larger cylindrical structure, causing the gear to rotate The larger gear will be connected to a smaller one which will then be connected to an alternator
