Know more about food chain by David and Maria
Introduction The visual representation will illustrate the inter- relationship in a food chain (producer, prey and consumer) The storyboard will mainly include the following contents: –What is food chain? –The role of producer/prey/consumer –The relationships among producer/prey/consumer –Games (match the role and give the right sequence of being producer/prey/consumer in a food chain)
What is food chain? A food chain shows how each living thing gets its food. Some animals eat plants and some animals eat other animals. For example, a simple food chain links the trees & shrubs, the giraffes (that eat trees & shrubs), and the lions (that eat the giraffes). Each link in this chain is food for the next link. A food chain always starts with plant life and ends with an animal. Wong, A. (n.d.). Food chains and webs. Retrieved July 4, 2006, from
The role of producer Plants are producers. They use light energy from the Sun to produce food (sugar) from photosynthesis.
The role of prey Smaller-sized organisms always be the prey as an energy source for larger-sized organisms (i.e. consumer).
The role of consumer Consumer cannot make their own food by themselves. They need to consume other food sources as gaining energy for their daily life.
The relationships among producer/prey/consumer Plants use sunlight for photosynthesis Worm eats grass Hen eats worm Tiger eats hen = eaten by
