3.  Smallmouth are not a picky fish, they will take just about anything when hungry, however some lures have proven better than others, such as:  Tubes- A hollow body with tentacles.  Large Worms- A very long plastic worm hooked weedless.  Crankbaits- A hard lure that wobbles In the water.

4.  The classic fisherman's knot should be your choice.  When choosing a rod you don’t want something to heavy, and a medium action real with 12 pound test is the best choice.

5.  A rocky and weedy area tends to be the best place to fish smallmouth in New Brunswick, like the Mactaquac Head pond or the Mactaquac Marina.
