The relevance of the project: the water pollution by blue-green algae requires the involvement of the process of water purification. The aim of the project: to create the most available method of water purification of Izhevsky pond.
Tasks: To collect and systematize theoretical material about Izhevsky pond. Identify the main sources of pollution of the pond. To study and analyze different methods of water purification. Organize practical nature protection activity of students.
Sources of pollution of the pond: Different enterprises of Izhevsk (CHP-1 ; «Axion- Holding»). Household waste. Water and garbage from roads. Sedimentation of harmful substances from the atmosphere. Blue-green algae settled at the bottom of the pond. Tons of garbage left by fishermen in the coastal waters of the pond.
The project of cleaning of a pond proposed by the administration of the city: Cleaning of the bottom from toxic sediments. Increase of the depth of the pond. Improvement of the coastal zone. Reconstruction of the slag dump. Building of onstruction of storm sewage systems. Monitoring of pollution sources.

Results of work : Izhevsk pond is the main source of water supply in the city. The main sources of pollution of the pond are the enterprise «Axion-Holding» and «CHP-1». Modern ecological state of the pond causes alarm due to the abundance of blue-green algae.
