Premillennialism Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins have struck a gold mine with this false doctrine. (Newsweek, May 24, 2004) “Their Biblical techno-thrillers about the end of the world are currently outselling Stephen King, John Grisham and every other pop novelist in America.” “The 12 th and final installment, called “Glorious Appearing,” has the return of Jesus, the battle of Armageddon and the Judgment. It sold almost 2 million copies even before its March publication; it’s still at No. 2 on the New York Times list – which doesn’t count sales at Christian bookstores.”

Premillennialism Specific Teachings 1.Christ’s Kingdom, though prophesied by the prophets and announced by John and Jesus, was postponed because the nation of Israel rejected Jesus as their Messiah. 2.Because the Jews rejected Jesus, Jesus set up the church as an alternative to the Kingdom. He then went back to heaven instead of ruling on earth as He originally planned. 3.While Jesus is waiting in heaven, He is not King. 4.While Jesus remains in heaven, Pagan Rome must come back into existence to fulfill Dan 2:44. 5.Troubled times, famines, earthquakes, pestilences are signs of the approaching the end.
Premillennialism Specific Teachings 6.Ten European countries will unite (teaching in 1960's and 70's, now modified because of the 12 nation EC). 7.A great leader will arise, making wonderful promises of prosperity (The Antichrist). For 3 1/2 years, he will rule over prosperous years. The last 3 1/2 years of his rule will be great distress 8.The Jews will rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. 9.Some say before, some say after, others say in the middle of this seven year period, Christ will return and “Rapture” all the Christians. (pre-trib - post-trib - mid- trib) 10.WWIII will begin over conflict in the Middle East. Russia, China and U.S will begin a nuclear exchange, threatening the world with total destruction.
Premillennialism Specific Teachings 11.In the middle of this great battle, Christ will come and put a stop to all the warfare in the battle of Armageddon. 12.Jesus will sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem, ruling over all the world for 1,000 years. During this reign, the Levitical priesthood and sacrifices and Temple worship will be restored. 13.During the 1,000 years, there will be complete peace on earth. Immortal saints will co-exist as priests and teachers of mortal men. At the end, Satan will influence a large number (Gog and Magog) to openly fight against Jesus. 14.After this last battle, the Great White Throne Judgment will begin. The wicked will be cast into hell and the righteous will enter heaven.

Objections To Premillennialism Requires the restoration of the OT priesthood and sacrificial system during the millennium. Heb. 9:11-12; 10: Based on a distortion of Matt. 24; Luke 21; Mk. 13 — tribulation in THAT generation. Matt. 24:34
Objections To Premillennialism Based on a distortion of the book of Revelation. — requires a mostly future application Rev. 1:1,3; 22:6 — literal is figurative (ch. 2-3) — figurative is literal (ch. 6-19) Teaches at least two resurrections, separated by 1000 years. John 5:28-29; Matt. 25:31-32
Objections To Premillennialism Possessed by a “last days” mentality that tries to fit every current event into an “end of the world” Bible prophecy. Heb. 1:1-2; Acts 2:16-17
