Bringing your life together

The sword of the Spirit  Ephesians 6:17...... take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  To overcome the giants in the land we need our sword  A sword is useful when it is put into action.  The person using the sword affects the effectiveness of the sword  A sword in the hands of a novice can be dangerous – so gain experience in the word.  The word of God contains all that is needed to accomplish its purpose but me must make it effective.

Making the Sword Effective  Renew your mind  Romans 12:1-2 ........ but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect  Develop a positive outlook  Philippians 1:6  And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.  Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you,” says the L ORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope  Romans 8:28  And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them  Psalm 23: 4  Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me

Take control of your words  James 3:2....For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way  Sweet and Bitter words  James 3:11 – 12  Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? Does a fig tree produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring  No corrupt communications  Ephesians 4:29  Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them

Develop your swordsmanship  Use the word to encourage some one  Use the word as the bases of your prayers  Use the word to speak blessings into the life of people  Use the word in your worship  Use the word in teaching your children  Use the word to correct

Hindrances to the sword effectiveness  Misuse of the tongue  Gossip  Lying  Profanity  Rudeness, unkindness and disrespect  Criticism  Betrayal (breaking of confidence)  Complaints & negativity

 To Believe God you must believe His Words  To Believe His word You must know His Words  To Know His words You must ingest it  God transcends my experiences  My experiences does not determine or prove who God is.  God is who he is regardless of mine or other individuals experiences

Five Principle of Active Faith  God is who He says He is  God can do what He says He can do  I am who God says I am  I can do what God says I can do  God's word is alive and active in me
