Introduction Have you ever heard of a swordfish? Did you ever want to learn about them? Swordfish are awesome. Read on to find out facts about them.

Swordfish Adaptations Want to learn about some swordfish adaptations? Well here's some! Swordfish have a long sharp bill to defend themselves and to kill their prey. Swordfish usually kill their prey by swinging their “sword” from side to side, then they eat the dead and wounded.

Swordfish Life Cycle Hmmm…. What should I tell you about now? Aha, I know, I’ll tell you about their life cycle. First females product tens of millions of eggs. Next the males fertilize them by swimming over them. Then they grow and grow and grow until they are adults. Swordfish live for about 9 years. Did you know that females are larger than males? Well, it’s true! The record weight for a female is 612 lbs, 12 ounces.

Their Diet Well, there’s only one more section that I researched, their diet. They feed on squid, octopus, fish, and crustaceans. Their predators are: Orcas, sperm whales, some large sharks, and some people.

Conclusion Now you know how awesome swordfish can be. Hope you learned something and are now as intrested in swordfish as I am.
