4 Tao Te Ching Chapter 古之善為士者 2. 微妙玄通 3. 深不可識 4. 夫唯不可識 5. 故強為之容 6. 豫兮若冬涉川 7. 猶兮若畏四鄰 8. 儼兮其若容 9. 渙兮若冰之將釋 10. 敦兮其若樸 11. 曠兮其若谷 12. 混兮其若濁 13. 孰能濁以 14. 靜之徐清 15. 孰能安以 16. 動之徐生 17. 保此道者不欲盈 18. 夫唯不盈 19. 故能蔽不新成 1.The Tao masters of antiquity 2.Subtle wonders through mystery 3.Depths that cannot be discerned 4.Because one cannot discern them 5.Therefore one is forced to describe the appearance 6.Hesitant, like crossing a wintry river 7.Cautious, like fearing four neighbors 8.Solemn, like a guest 9.Loose, like ice about to melt 10.Genuine, like plain wood 11.Open, like a valley 12.Opaque, like muddy water 13.Who can be muddled yet desist 14.in stillness gradually become clear? 15.Who can be serene yet persist 16.in motion gradually come alive? 17.One who holds this Tao does not wish to be overfilled 18.Because one is not overfilled 19.Therefore one can preserve and not create anew
