6. How is the power of an Earthquake measured? Power is measured using the Richter scale which gives you a number between 0 and 10. As the scale gets nearer to 10 the power goes up intensely.

What precautions do people take ?  Improve your homes resilience.  Get communication devices (e.g. walkie talkie)  Have a radio to listen to the news  Have food and water supplies  Pack a torch and emergency lighting (e.g. candles)  Inform relatives and neighbours there could be an Earthquake.
