Open vs. Closed Ended Questions Open ended provide more information –Tell me more about the symptoms you are having… Closed provide only limited information –Did your doctor tell you to take 1 tablet daily? –Do you know how long you will need to take this medication?
Refills Show and tell –Place the pill in the lid and ask the patient: –So, what are you using this medication for? –And how do you take it? –And are you having any problems?
