5. Jazz at Lincoln Center – Big Band Holidays The spirit of the winter holiday season has always been best captured by the music that this joyous time inspires. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis and special guest vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” with Big Band Holidays, a jazzy celebration now in its fourth year. The JLCO will explore the canon of holiday standards with signature arrangements of Yuletide favorites, with Sherman Irby’s clear sense of swing, Victor Goines’ New Orleans-flavored nuances, Chris Crenshaw’s deeply soulful and complex church-rooted grooves, and many more. Augmenting this special event is 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition winner and Mack Avenue recording artist Cécile McLorin Salvant, who is one of the most commanding new voices in jazz. Big Band Holidays kicks off the season with messages of peace and good cheer.

Reception Dimensions: 56'1"W × 40'5"D × 18'H Capacity : 200 Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman Studio The Agnes Varis and Karl Leichtman Studio is a full- service, state-of-the-art 96-track digital recording and post-production facility. One of the largest recording studios in New York City, this room features a sprung wooden dance floor, an observation balcony, and enough capacity for an entire symphony orchestra. Designed as an integrated component of the Frederick P. Rose Hall facility, the Varis and Leichtman Studio is wired to all of the performance spaces in order to facilitate ease of professional recording. This unique space is steps from the Rose Hall where the performance takes place. We can arrange a private cocktail reception prior to the show where your guests can mingle.

Tschaikovsky's beloved melodies will transport you to a magical world where mischievous mice besiege a battalion of toy soldiers, and an onstage blizzard leads to an enchanted Land of Sweets. This is a lasting Christmas tradition for residents and visitors of New York City alike.

The rooms are available for receptions held pre-show, post-show or both.
