3 History/Purpose  a committee of arts educators convened  Goals Advocate for our district wide programs Involve all schools and as many children and families as possible Showcase ALL art forms (visual art, dance, theater and music) Fundraise for Arts Education programs

4 History/Purpose  A partnership with the City of Peoria/ Sports Complex staff  A partnership with Peoria Education Foundation  we operated the first Arts Festival

6 P.E.F. Grants for Arts Educators  Proceeds of the festival have been used for:  unique classroom learning opportunities  special equipment for arts classroom use  P.E.F has been able to offer nearly100 arts grants over the past 11years in upwards of $140,000  They have been awarded to visual and performing arts teachers district wide

12 Spring of Entered discussions with the City about moving the festival to a downtown location. Multiple meetings about available resources hurdles, and desired outcomes. July of Finalized the partnership and finalized a date. Peoria Unified committee of arts educators assembled to view the location and facilities.

15 Utilize public facilities that accentuate student performances The location heightened the concept of community connectedness Ability for us to offer activities for children in dance, visual art and music. Interesting and unique food choices. Free event for our community.

16 Peoria Arts and Cultural Festival Roughly $18,000 in sponsorships Roughly $3,000 in paid activities Attracted well over 11,000 visitors 500 participants in arts workshops and activities The goals of the City, the Foundation and Peoria Unified Arts Education were met
