9 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle, Backstroke Favorite Event: 200 M.R., 100 Back Most proud of: Learning new stuff, getting new friends, and working harder on swimming every year. Other Activities: I enjoy volleyball, Golf, singing. I am the head pitcher on my softball team. One of my goals: To get better at swimming and to get faster as I go. Favorite Memory: When we played games and had to hold up a brick and a water container over our heads in groups of 4 or 5 for 1 minute and SOMEONE, dropped the brick on my head and the group accidentally knocked the water container almost full of water on his/her eye.

10 Lexa Becker Doesn’t plan to swim in HS Lessons learned: Learning to work together Advice for younger swimmers: Listen hard and listen well. You will succeed if you just listen. I will miss… All the new friends I made

12 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Breaststroke Favorite Event: 100 Breaststroke Most proud of: Swimming the 200 freestyle multiple times. Other Activities: I enjoy reading as well as playing two instruments and a few sports. One of my goals: Join the High School swim team and improve my stroke. Favorite Memory: My favorite memory from this year was the St. John's meet.

13 Wesley Casaletto Plans to Swim in HS Lessons learned: Swimming is fun. Advice for younger swimmers: Always try your best. I will miss… The middle school coaches.

15 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: IM Favorite Event: 100 Individual Medley Most proud of: Achieving the state meet. Other Activities: Computer Games, Debate, Cello. Computer Games, Debate, Cello. One of my goals: Become a stronger swimmer in all strokes in order to improve my IM time. Favorite Memory: I really enjoyed the swimming Olympics in which we held competition in a variety of irregular swimming events.

16 Aidan Dettweiler Plans to Swim in HS Lessons learned: Push yourself, or you will not improve. Advice for younger swimmers: Push yourself, or you will not improve. I will miss… The fun activities.

17 Patrick Hanley

18 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Breaststroke Favorite Event: 100 Breaststroke Most proud of: Having the honor to swim in the 200 medley relay for MISCA. Other Activities: Baseball is life. Swimming and band are the only exceptions. One of my goals: Continue to cut down my 50 breaststroke time. Favorite Memory: Winning 2nd place in CAAC. Winning 2nd place in CAAC.

19 Patrick Hanley Does not plan to swim in HS Lessons learned: No swimmer left behind! Advice for younger swimmers: For younger swimmers, you guys are the building blocks for the future. In a couple years, you guys are going to be the leaders of the team, and the best thing you can do for younger swimmers. I will miss… Monsters (my favorite part of practices)

21 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Backstroke Favorite Event: 100 Individual Medley Most proud of: I learned a lot of new technique and took time off a few events. Other Activities: dance, guitar, and reading dance, guitar, and reading One of my goals: To get first in at least one event at a meet Favorite Memory: just experiencing my first swim meet was really fun just experiencing my first swim meet was really fun

22 Jill Kammerer Plans to swim in HS Lessons learned: Team spirit Advice for younger swimmers: Keep a positive attitude and have fun I will miss… My friends who will will still be on the middle school team.

23 Carolyn Kolar

24 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle Favorite Event: 100 Freestyle, 200 FR Most proud of: Improving on my flip turns and working on my endurance. I felt faster this year and had a lot more fun hanging out with all my teammates. Other Activities: I love writing poetry, cooking, trying new foods, outdoor summer activities, and of course swimming! One of my goals: To continue being on the swim team in high school next year. I also want to try diving since I love doing flips and try out water polo. Favorite Memory: At the St Johns meet. The relay I was on got first in our heat. It was a great feeling with everyone cheering me on during the last lap.

25 Carolyn Kolar Plans to swim in HS Lessons learned: You have to work hard to achieve results. Advice for younger swimmers: Work hard and make new friends. I will miss… Hanging out with the guys!

26 Mara Logan

27 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle Favorite Event: 100 Freestyle Most proud of: Dropping time on all of the strokes I swam as well as improving my swimming technique and flipturns. Other Activities: I do horse back riding, art, and I play viola in the MMS orchestra. One of my goals: I would like to drop more time on my freestyle. Favorite Memory: The meets were all a lot of fun but I particularly liked the biggest home meet, there were a variety of schools there.

28 Mara Logan Plans to swim in HS Lessons learned: Teamwork is important and your coaches are very willing to help. Advice for younger swimmers: Ask for help if you need it and push yourselves.. I will miss… I think high school is a lot more competitive, but there are times when that is good.

29 Daniel Miller

30 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle Favorite Event: 50 Freestyle Most proud of: Winning 2 nd place (team) in the CAAC championships Other Activities: Reading, band, video games Reading, band, video games One of my goals: To get better and to have fun Favorite Memory: The last day of practice, or the water polo tournament/day The last day of practice, or the water polo tournament/day

31 Daniel Miller Plans to swim in HS Lessons learned: How to do pretty much most of the stuff I know. Advice for younger swimmers: Just keep swimming! I will miss… The seventh graders.

33 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle Favorite Event: 200 Medley Relay, 50 Freestyle, Free Relays Most proud of: I am proud of making it to states with my relay teams. Other Activities: I enjoy reading, orchestra, building/designing and modifying robots, and some computer games. One of my goals: One of my swimming goals is block starts. Favorite Memory: My favorite memory from this season is that I got to experience sprinting using the bungee cord.

34 Ben Ng Plans to Swim in HS Lessons learned: Good block starts and better butterfly skills Advice for younger swimmers: Try to get into the individual events at states so you can get other people on the team and get the team recognized in the state. I will miss… ???

35 Jonathan Thaden

36 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle, Br, IM Favorite Event: 200 Relays, 100 Br Most proud of: I was able to win some of my events this season as a result of hard work and preparation. Other Activities: Other activities I enjoy include reading, robotics, playing cello, watching movies, and having fun. One of my goals: To be able to continue swimming as a lifetime sport and be able to drop a couple seconds off of my event times. Favorite Memory: When Aidan and I had to use the bungee cord device in order to show us what it feels like to go faster.

37 Jonathan Thaden Plans to Swim in HS Lessons learned: Turns, being a good teammate, and racing against myself to high school Advice for younger swimmers: To stick with the program. Don’t do stupid stuff (running on deck, not paying attention, getting in water too early, etc.), and have a lot of fun. I will miss… I will somewhat miss the laid back atmosphere of the middle school team

39 Sydnet Weber 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Freestyle Favorite Event: 200 Free Relay Most proud of: Placing 8th with my medley relay team at the CAACs and winning a medal. Other Activities: Reading, playing the piano and lacrosse. Reading, playing the piano and lacrosse. One of my goals: To beat my current 50 free time of Favorite Memory: The last practice of 2014, when we got to go off the high dive and dive for dimes, then keep them. 40 Sydney Weber Plans to Swim in HS Lessons learned: All of them…unless I forget. Advice for younger swimmers: Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming! I will miss… All the friends I made that aren’t going to be there next year.

41 Daniel Winston

42 8th Grade – MacDonald Favorite Stroke: Breaststroke Favorite Event: 1-meter Diving, 100 Breaststroke Most proud of: Placing 7th at the CAAC meet in Diving. I have never been in diving before, so this was new to me. I am very proud of myself. Other Activities: I am a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I also enjoy reading, surfing, boogie boarding, and anything water related...I grew up in Hawaii!! One of my goals: To place in the top three at a meet. Favorite Memory: When the "Germany" team was able to teach swimming for the day.

43 Daniel Winston Plans to Swim in HS Dive?? Lessons learned: To keep trying and never give up. Advice for younger swimmers: Just keep swimming! Just keep You’ll learn something new every day. Listen to what the coaches tell you and work hard. I will miss… The fun coaching staff.
