The New Book 4 the Net Generation Design Communication For Joybook Lite U101 BenQ Lifestyle Design Center For Internal Use only U101 ID Design Concept

The Rise of the Net Generation The Net Generation was born from the early 1980s to the early 1990s. It is the first generation to grow up surrounded by digital media. For them, computers and internet have become necessities in daily life.

The Need of Being Connected Anytime Anywhere In the past, people use laptops for a more professional purpose. In the time of internet, people read news, keep a diary, check mail, chat with friends, share photos, read maps, etc. on the net. That is why there is a new need to connect to internet anytime anywhere.

Regular Laptop Not that easy to carry around Eee PC Not that easy to type and view But it is not that easy to use internet anytime anywhere…

e.MOTION The internet in motion that expresses your emotion

"The Internet is fostering new kinds of creativity through language," said David Crystal, a historian of language at the University of Wales in the United Kingdom. Netspeak is a method of conveying text, thoughts, even emotions, in the shortest form possible. A typical string might read “BTW, lets F2F 4 YA lunch, DN b l8. :)” Translated, this would read “By the way, let's get together (face to face) for yet another lunch, do not be late. (smile emotion)” Netspeak -- A New Culture in the Net Generation

:-) :-( ;-) :-D :-P (^_^) (T_T) \m/(>.<)\m/ (^_-)db(-_^) Orz XD >:( :-/ 8-) xc== The Lively Emoticon An emoticon (Emotion + Icon) is a symbol or combination of symbols used to convey emotional content in written or message form. It is fun to use and decipher these codes in the net generation.

From Internet 2 Reality Originally a communication form on the internet, emoticons have been brought to the real world by the product designers.

Hip Element Emoticon graphics are used in many fashionable products designed for Net Generation.

The Joybook Lite is designed for the Net Generation. The Lifestyle Design Center took inspiration from the new language of emoticon to create the fun pattern on the cover. These emoticons are created with the alphabets and symbol of I, (love), J, o, y, b, o, o, k, L, I, t, e. A New Design Language 4 the Net Generation
