We may want the pink one too. The ones in italics are already in TBX. I do not know why TBX did not include all children in a set (for instance in the “abbreviated form of term” set). This is what is causing the problem… TBX includes only the parent and one child of this set. Furthermore, we find the breakdown of abbreviations in confusing and need to clarify them.

3 A term resulting from the omission of any part of the full term while designating the same concept A designation formed by omitting words or letters from a longer form and designating the same concept. Example: full form: adjective abbreviation: adj A variant of a multiword term that includes fewer words than the full form of the term. Example: full form: Intergovernmental Group of Twenty- four on Monetary Affairs short form: Group of Twenty-four An abbreviation made up of the initial letters of the components of the full form of the designation or from syllables of the full form and pronounced letter by letter. Example: full form: bovine spongiform encephalopathy; short form: BSE An abbreviation made up of the initial letters of the components of the full form of the designation or from syllables of the full form and pronounced syllabically. Example: radar = radio detecting and ranging An abbreviation formed by truncating a part of a simple term. Example: full form: influenza clipped term: flu ISO current definitions – not systematic! similar examples! similar definitions! TBX-lite does not need to differentiate incorrect genus in def’n or incorrect model? abbreviation by definition appears to include both short form and clipped term
