4 Shannon Trust The Work we do A peer led programme where prisoners who can read teach prisoners with poor reading skills, using the Toe by Toe reading manual The Shannon Trust Reading Plan (Toe by Toe) Shannon Trust provdides resources and volunteer support to deliver the Reading Plan in individual prisons In 2010 approximately 6,000 learners and 1,500 peer mentors engaged in the Reading Plan The Reading Plan runs 160 prisons & secure establishments in the UK 4 4 A team of 160 volunteers and 250 staff deliver The Reading Plan
