4 4 Introduction Definition of sentence transformation: Sentence transformation is the application of some type of syntactic rule or convention to move an element in a sentence from one position to another, retaining the meaning of the sentence. The ability to rewrite sentences so that they have the same meaning as the original It is often required for many English ESL/EFL Exams such as Cambridge's First Certificate, CAE and Proficiency. This skill can also help you prepare for the TOEFL examination (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
