History of Feng Shui Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement. It is used to facilitate the flow of Ch’i in the home, garden, office, etc. Feng Shui is working with things as they are to try to enhance your life by bringing it into harmony and balance with its surroundings It does this through the numerous but equally important principles of Feng Shui

The principles of Feng Shui Based on precepts laid down thousands of years ago in the Chinese classics, particularly the Li Shu, or Book of Rites, a sacred book that enshrines the basic tenets of Chinese religious belief. It is concerned with: o order, o the harmony of heaven and earth, o and with the ways in which humanity can best keep the balance of nature intact

Basic Principle Feng Shui is about ENERGY Bring into balance whatever is out of balance

The Bedroom… 90% Sleep (rest) 10% Intimacy Rule of Thumb There may be things within the space effecting your ability to fall/stay asleep Eliminate anything in the room that isn’t fulfilling the purpose of that space.

A good feng shui bedroom… Whether you're there for a quick nap or a good night sleep… promotes a harmonious flow of nourishing and sensual energy is a bedroom that invites you, lures you in, excites and calms at the same time fun and pleasurable to be in

Seven Steps to Achieving a Feng Shui Bedroom!

Tip # 1. In your bedroom let go of TV, computer Exercise equipment Electronics create high EMFs (dangerous for your health), bring the energy of work stress distraction bad news for a good relationship A low EMF exposure is especially important at night, when your body is doing most of its healing work

Tip # 2 Open the windows often or use a good quality air purifier to keep the air in your bedroom fresh and full of oxygen. You cannot have good feng shui in your bedroom if the air you breathe in is stale and full of pollutants. Essential oils can also help you purify the air in your bedroom, but be sure to choose actual essential oils (they have healing properties) vs. fragrance oils (which are toxic). Plants in the bedroom are not good feng shui, Plants have a strong and vibrant energy of growth and movement yang energy which is not the feng shui energy recommended for the bedroom. Plants also release CO2 at night.

Tip # 3. Follow the 3 basic feng shui guidelines for your bed : 1. have your bed easily approachable from both sides 2. have two bedside tables (one on each side) 3. avoid having the bed directly in line with the door

Tip # 3 A "good looking" and well balanced bed is very important in creating a perfect feng shui bedroom. Good mattress Solid headboard High quality sheets from natural fibers

Tip # 4 Use soothing colors to achieve a good feng shui balance in your bedroom. Feng shui bedroom decor is a balanced decor that promotes the best flow of energy for restorative sleep, as well as sexual healing. Best feng shui colors for the bedroom are considered the so called "skin colors", and we know the colors of human skin vary from pale white to rich chocolate brown.

Tip # 5 Choose your bedroom art wisely - Images carry powerful energy Best feng shui advice for the bedroom art is to choose images that you want to see happening in your life; images with nourishing, happy and beautiful energy images related to the emotions of love, happy relationships, body healing, intimacy, etc.

Tip # 6 Have good, appropriate lighting Realize light is our # 1 nutrient and one of the strongest manifestation of energy Have several levels of lighting in your bedroom, or use a dimmer switch to adjust the energy accordingly Candles are the best feng shui bedroom lighting they not only clear the energy, but also create a very intimate, warm and healing atmosphere When buying candles, check to be sure your candles are toxin free.

Tip # 7 Keep all bedroom doors closed at night o be it the closet doors, the bathroom door or the bedroom door. o This will allow for the best and most nourishing flow of energy to strengthen your health, as well as the health of your relationship. Keep your bedroom closet clean and organized This will further create a sense of peace and calm in your bedroom. Understand the interaction between the doors and windows in your bedroom and be sure the energy is not escaping your bedroom, but rather nourishes and strengthens it.

Set Yourself up for a Better Nights Sleep Remove what isn’t serving you o Clutter o Stuff under the bed o Work o Electronics

Your bed is the most important feng shui piece of furniture in your entire life. Your bed is the only piece of furniture that has the most intimate (and intricate!) connection to your personal energy.

Your Bed: Feng Shui Checklist Best material : wood Style: Any but must have breathing room underneath

Bed Headboard A good headboard is a must for a good feng shui bed Solid made from wood or upholstered (they have a very good combination of solid, but also gentle and supporting of feng shui energy) Do not choose a bed with a headboard made of iron bars

Bed Mattress & Bed Linen Colors Choose wisely and invest in the one that will promote best sleep and relaxation. Do not buy used mattresses, this is bad feng shui – you never know what energy they have accumulated from previous owners. Best colors for your bed linens are the so called skin colors.
