Bring Something Setting: Activity Period To Work On Expectation: Be Respectful
Critical Steps: Bring necessary materials to class Have assignments and materials to work on
Define: This means Plan in advance to bring necessary materials to class. Update your agenda each day with assignments and materials to work on. “Today we’re going to talk about being responsible and bringing something to work on during Activity Period.”
Show: Bring something to work on during Activity Period such as: homework a project that is due later in the week, or work that was just assigned during the morning periods.
Good Example or Bad Example? Larry was given an assignment during first period in math class. Larry has baseball practice after school and will not have time to do his math tonight, so Larry brings his math to Activity Period so he can have his homework for tomorrow done before school ends. GOOD!
Good Example or Bad Example? Tim has a language paper due at the end of the day. Tim forgot to do his paper last night and decided to do it during Activity Period. When Tim arrives to Activity Period, he forgot his language paper and decides to sit and talk with Jim. BAD!
Good Example or Bad Example? Bill was assigned a social studies project Monday that is due on Friday. It is Tuesday, and Bill decides to bring his project to Activity Period daily to work on, so he does not have to take it home. GOOD!
Good Example or Bad Example? Sarah, a junior, has a test that she’s known about for a few weeks. She’s decided to hold off on studying until the day of the test during Activity Period. During 4 th hour, they announce a mandatory assembly for all upper classmen. She doesn’t end up studying at all. BAD!
Good Example or Bad Example? Frank has to work all week and he knows that he won’t have time after work to complete his homework. So, he takes his work to Activity Period to finish it before it’s due. GOOD!
