THE CONFERENCE
The principal aim of the Conference will be to examine the issue of water resources in Africa in the context of higher demand from the agriculture and energy sectors and climate change.

Assessment of their financial cost
The Conference, which will be held in a context of food crisis driven by soaring food prices, will be an opportunity to discuss water control projects within the framework of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme.
in terms of feasibility studies and implementation of works
The Conference will examine investment needs and management problems for harnessing of water and irrigation at village level, for the rehabilitation of large-scale hydro-agricultural works and for the development of major river basins.

7. THE VENUE
The Sirte Congress Place, with a covered surface of about 44,000 m2, comprises a great number of conference halls and services:
The Great Congress Hall: with a capacity of 3,660 seats, it is equipped with one of the most advanced audio-visual systems and simultaneous translation.
The Presidential Conference Hall has a capacity of 24 presidential seats plus 168 seats destined to the members of their delegations.
