ROLL OF THUNDER HEAR MY CRY PLAYLIST BY:DESTINY BENNETT, JEKAIRA

I REFUSE Sometimes I I just want to close my eyes And act like everyone's alright When I know they're not This world needs God But it's easier to stand and watch I could say a prayer and just move on Like nothing's wrong But I refuse 'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care I don't want to say another empty prayer Oh, I refuse To sit around and wait for someone else To do what God has called me to do myself Oh, I could choose Not to move but I refuse I can hear the least of these Crying out so desperately And I know we are the hands and feet Of You, oh God So, if You say move It's time for me to follow through And do what I was made to do Show them who You are 'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care I don't want to say another empty prayer Oh, I refuse

Refuse We choose this song because its is talking about refusing something. Just like little man refuses to pick up the book that he threw on the ground. He fought for what he believes in that it was not right for it to be classified as negro or white. This happens on page 24.

This land is your land this land is my land This land is your land This land is my land From California to the New York island; From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters This land was made for you and Me. As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway: I saw below me that golden valley: This land was made for you and me. I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts; And all around me a voice was sounding: This land was made for you and me. When the sun came shining, and I was strolling, And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling, As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting: This land was made for you and me.

I am going to get you one way or another One way or another I'm going to find ya I'm going to getcha get you getcha One way or another I'm going to win you I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha One way or another I'm gonna see ya I'm gonna meetcha meetcha meetcha meetcha One day, maybe next week I'm gonna meetcha, I'm gonna meetcha, I'll meetcha I will drive past your house And if the lights are all down I'll see who's around One way or another I'm gonna find ya I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha One way or another I'm gonna win ya I'll getcha, I'll getcha One way or another I'm gonna see ya I'm gonna meetcha meetcha meetcha meetcha One day, maybe next week I'm gonna meetcha, I'll meetcha And if the lights are all out I'll follow your bus downtown See who's hanging out One way or another I'm gonna lose ya I'm gonna give you the slip, a slip of the lip or another I'm gonna lose ya, I'm gonna trick ya, I'll trick ya One way or another I'm gonna lose ya I'm gonna trick ya trick ya trick ya trick ya One way or another I'm gonna lose ya I'm gonna give you the slip I'll walk down the mall Stand over by the wall Where I can see it all Find out who ya call Lead you to the supermarket checkout Some specials and rat food, get lost in the crowd

This your land is your land We choose this one because its is talking about land and the Logan land loves there land. They did not want to give up there land.

I am going to get you one way or another This is a fun song and to me it goes perfectly with this event when the kids got revenge on the white kids school bus. So if you get it they got revenge one way or another. This also goes with the theme because they knew what the white kids did was wrong so they faught back.

Fightin’ side of me Fightin' Side Of Me: Merle Haggard. Written by Merle Haggard. ( Tree Publishing Company.) From "Songs I'll Always Sing", 1976, Capitol Records. I hear people talkin' bad, About the way we have to live here in this country, Harpin' on the wars we fight, An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be. An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides, An' standin' up for things they believe in. When they're runnin' down my country, man, They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me. Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me. Runnin' down the way of life, Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep. If you don't love it, leave it: Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'. If you're runnin' down my country, man, You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me. I read about some squirrely guy, Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'. An' I wonder just how long, The rest of us can count on bein' free. They love our milk an' honey, But they preach about some other way of livin'. When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,

Fighting side of me We choose this song because it talks about him fighting for what he belives in and mr.morrison got fired and the white men did not

Where is the love People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practise what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love (The love)? Where is the love, the love, the love? I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder Most of us only care about money makin' Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction Wrong information always shown by the media Negative images is the main criteria Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity Whatever happened to the fairness and equality Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found Now ask yourself Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Father, Father, Father, help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love?

Where is the love We choose this song because Mr.Barnett was unfair to cassie because she was black. This song goes perfectly with this event and he did not show love to black.

I will stand up for myself Oh, I'll stand up for myself, and what I believe in, I'll stand up for myself, and for my rights, too. Yes, I'll stand up for myself, and what I believe in, and I'll do it in a way that respects your rights, too. DO-do-DO-do-DO-do-do-DO! I can take charge of my life; that's one thing I believe in, I can take charge of my life; it's my right to do. I will take charge of my life---and I'll be glad that I did it! It's not only my right, it's my responsibility, too. DO-do-DO-do-DO-do-do-DO! You can take charge of your life, and stand up for what you believe in, You can take charge of your life; it's your right to do. You can take charge of your life---you'll be glad that you did it. It's not only your right; it's your responsibility, too. DO-do-DO-do-DO-do-do-DO! So... We'll stand up for ourselves and what we believe in, We'll stand up for ourselves and for our rights, too. Yes, we'll stand up for ourselves and what we believe in, and we'll do it in a way that respects others' rights, too. DO-do-DO-do-DO-do-do-DO!

I will stand up for myself We choose this song because cassie didt apolize to lilian jean after they bumped in to eachother so this song is saying cassie knew it was not her fault so was not goin to apolizie just cause she is white

Blame it By Jamie Foxx Blame it on the goose, gotcha feeling loose Blame it on the 'tron, catch me in a zone Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Fill another cup up, feelin' on your butt what You don't even care now, I was unaware How fine you was before My buzz set in, my buzz set in Blame it on the goose, gotcha feeling loose Blame it on the 'tron, catch me in a zone Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the vodka, blame it on the henny Blame it on the blue tap, got you feeling dizzy Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Fill another cup up, feelin' on your butt what You don't even care now, I was unaware How fine you was before My buzz set in, my buzz set in Blame it on the goose, gotcha feeling loose Blame it on the 'tron, catch me in a zone Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the vodka, blame it on the henny Blame it on the blue tap, got you feeling dizzy Blame it on the a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-alcohol

Blame It By Jamie Foxx This song goes along with what t.j did to stacey. He let stacey get beat by mama when it was t.j who had the cheat sheet. This song says the words “blame it”. That is excatly what t.g did to stacey. In this song it also gives exampes on what he blames stuff on. Like drinking and stuff. T.G just wanted someone to blame it on.

SECRETS BY ONE REPBLIC I need another story Something to get off my chest My life gets kinda boring Need something that I can confess Til' all my sleeves are stained red From all the truth that I've said Come by it honestly I swear Thought you saw me wink, no I've been on the brink, so Tell me what you want to hear Something that will light those ears Sick of all the insincere I'm gonna give all my secrets away This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics ever jump in line I'm gonna give all my secrets away Tell me what you want to hear Something that are like those years Sick of all the insincere I'm goanna give all my secrets away This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm goanna give all my secrets away So tell me what you want to hear Something that'll light those ears Sick of all the insincere I'm goanna give all my secrets away This time, don't need another perfect lie Don't care if critics never jump in line I'm goanna give all my secrets away

SECRETS This song goes peferctly with the kids. Stacey, cassie, little man, and christoper Jhon did. The hid that there the ones did that did that to the school bus. It says “gonna give all my secrets away. Well aventualy the secret will come out. It also says “don’t need another perfect lie”. So this song to me is perfect with this event.

SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD Uh, with your bad self Say it louder (I got a mouth) Say it louder (I got a mouth) I'm black and I'm proud Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, one more time Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, huh I've worked on jobs with my feet and my hands But all the work I did was for the other man And now we demands a chance To do things for ourselves we tired of beating our heads against the wall And working for someone else Now we demand a chance to do things for ourselves We tired of beating our heads against the wall And working for someone else A look a'here, One thing more I got to say right here Now, we're people like the birds and the bees We rather die on our feet, Than keep living on our knees Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, hu Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, hu Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, Lord'a Lord'a Lord'a Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud, ooooh

SAY IT LOUD AND PROUD This song is really good when cassie bumps into lillan jean and made her aplozie to her. This song says “iam black and proud”. Cassie should of said that to lillan jean. Lillan jean is white so cassie gets treated diffrently then whites.
