Sustainability Impact Sheet for Procurement Natalie Evans Gloucestershire County Council
Why design a Sustainability Impact Sheet? Objectives: To encourage devolved procurement staff to consider sustainability from the outset To give a clearer idea of potential impacts to people and the environment associated with the procurement of various goods/ services To provide a tool to help select appropriate pre-qualification (PQQ) and tender questions
Considerations The Sustainability Impact Sheet needs to be: User friendly – Clear layout – Hyperlinks – Assessment criteria included in PQQ/ tender sheet Relevant – with examples provided A help rather than a hindrance! – Used as a tool – No disincentive to filling it in appropriately Mandatory
What now? Timing: Introduced in March, mandatory from 1 st April 2011 Senior buy-in: Approved by Strategic Purchasers Comms: Intranet and online newsletter Monitoring compliance: Through the gateway sign-off process and Pro-Contract ( our E- tendering system)
