3. ACT I “Angels” Narrator: Older Kid “Love came down at Christmas,
Read as younger kids file in as angels, and stand in semi-circle behind & around manger
“Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love Divine,
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and Angels gave the sign.”

4. Away in a Manger
1st Verse: All kids – with traditional hand actions, played on the piano
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus
laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky
looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay
Kids “freeze” in angel position – holding candles or prayer position with hands

5. Narrator: Older Kid The angel said to them,
“Do not be afraid, for behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy
which will be to all people.
For there is born to you this day
in the City of David, a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.”

6. Narrator: Older Kid “And this will be the sign to you:
You will find a Babe
wrapped in swaddling cloths,
lying in a manger.”

7. Narrator: Older Kid
“And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
and goodwill toward men.”

8. Silent Night 1st Verse: All kids – played on the piano
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Kids “freeze” in angel position – holding candles or prayer position with hands

9. Narrator: Older Kid “For God so loved the world,
That He gave His only Son,
That whoever believes in him
Shall not perish,
But have eternal life.”
John 3:16

10. ACT II “Excited Hearts”
Narrator: Older Kid to the younger ones
“That means Jesus was the
first Christmas present – to us!”
All Kids: Excitedly
“That. Is. AWESOME!!” (cheer)

11. “Hey! Turn up the music, please!”
Older Kid: Point at the sound person
“Hey! Turn up the music, please!”
Sound person nods, puts on sunglasses, and starts the song.
Kids put on sunglasses, grab instruments, and use candles as “microphones.”

12. Start out with kids singing and dancing (music on CD)
[Older girls do some easy choreography?]
They need to know the first 11 lines the best
During the line *“they see a bright new shining star, they hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar”* one kid will get the choir to their feet – they could put on sunglasses too if they wanted – and the kid will direct the choir.
Choir comes in on “Hark, now hear the angels sing…”
Kids get the congregation & pastor to stand, dance, clap along, etc.
Projection should have words

13. Mary’s Boy Child Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ
was born on Christmas Day
And man will live forevermore because of Christmas Day

14. Mary’s Boy Child Long time ago in Bethlehem, So the Holy Bible said
Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ
Was born on Christmas Day

15. Mary’s Boy Child Hark, now hear the angels sing, A king was born today
And man will live forevermore because of Christmas Day
Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day

16. They hear a choir sing a song
Mary’s Boy Child
While shepherds watch
their flock by night
*They see a bright new
shining star
They hear a choir sing a song
The music seemed to
come from afar*

17. Mary’s Boy Child Hark, now hear the angels sing, A king was born today
And man will live forevermore because of Christmas Day

18. Mary’s Boy Child
For a moment the world was aglow, all the bells rang out
There were tears of
joy and laughter
People shouted
“Let everyone know.
There is hope for all to find peace.”

19. Mary’s Boy Child And then they found a little nook
In a stable all forlorn
And in a manger cold and dark,
Mary’s little boy was born

20. Mary’s Boy Child Hark, now hear the angels sing, A king was born today
And man will live forevermore because of Christmas Day
Mary’s boy child Jesus Christ as born on Christmas Day

21. Mary’s Boy Child
For a moment the world was aglow, all the bells rang out
There were tears of
joy and laughter
People shouted
“Let everyone know.

22. Oh My Lord Oh my Lord, you sent Your Son to save us
Oh my Lord, your very self

Oh my Lord, that sin

And love may reign once more

Crowned Him

All around Him
To see Him and adore

They had become to doubt you

(He is the truth forever)
What did they know about you?

But they were lost without you
They needed you so bad
(His light is shining on us)

26. Oh My Lord Oh my Lord (So Praise the Lord) With the child’s adoration
Oh my Lord (He is a personation)
There came great jubilation

They realized what they had
(until the sun falls from the sky)

You sent your Son to save us

That sin may not enslave us
And love may reign once more

29. Narrator: Older kid – happy, but disappointed “Is it over already?”
Song fades out, older kids kind of collapse on stage.
Younger kids sit back in semi-circle where they started.
Narrator: Older kid – happy, but disappointed
“Is it over already?”
All younger kids smile and shake heads “no”.

30. “If we keep Christ in our hearts, Christmas has no end.”
Narrator: Older kid
“If we keep Christ in our hearts, Christmas has no end.”
Everyone bow or kneel at the manger
