Second Day of School Play D major chord on piano. Remind them about safety and support. Sing some simple exercise together. Start teaching singing fundamentals.

#3 LIFTED PALATE Palate exploration (use tongue) Observe the uvula dangly ball, punch bag, gully whopper Bite the apple, surprise breath, yawn breath “Call and response” silly words or phrases. Practice with a partner. Use a mirror if you have one.
#4 BREATH MANAGEMENT Explain how breath management and phonation are connected. Demonstrate different types of tone from breathy to strident and have students experiment. Lip trills/motor boats on 5-note scales. Long tones on a slow I-V7-I progression.
