Mt. 5:6 (II Tim. 2:15) The Use of the Word “Labor” in the N.T. Heb. 6:10, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”

Are We Saved/Justified By Works? NO! Eph. 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye SAVED through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT is THE GIFT OF GOD: 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.” YES! YES! Jas. 2:24, “Ye see then how that BY WORKS a man is JUSTIFIED, and NOT BY FAITH ONLY.” Is There A Contradiction? Cf. II Tim. 2:15

or by grace are ye SAVED through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus unto GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them Eph. 2:8-10, “For by grace are ye SAVED through faith; and that NOT OF YOURSELVES: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD: 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are HIS WORKMANSHIP, created in Christ Jesus unto GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Cf. Isa. 2:2-3 (Lk. 17:10) Not By Boastful Works, But By The Works Of God! Are We Saved/Justified By Works?

Not By Boastful Works, But By The Works Of God! Are We Saved/Justified By Works? Rom. 3:27-28, “Where is BOASTING then? IT IS EXCLUDED. By WHAT LAW? OF WORKS? NAY: but BY THE LAW OF FAITH. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is JUSTIFIED BY FAITH without the DEEDS (ASV, NASB, RSV, NRSV, WORKS) of the law.”

Not By Boastful Works, But By The Works Of God! Are We Saved/Justified By Works? Rom. 4:1-7, “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? 2 For if Abraham were JUSTIFIED BY WORKS, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham BELIEVED GOD, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that WORKETH is the reward NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, BUT OF DEBT. 5 But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH ON HIM that JUSTIFIETH the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness….”

5 But to him that WORKETH NOT, but BELIEVETH ON HIM that JUSTIFIETH the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness….” I Cor. 1:31, “That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” Cf. II Cor. 10:17

Are We Saved/Justified By Works? Jas. 2:19-24, “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father JUSTIFIED BY WORKS, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how FAITH wrought with his WORKS, and BY WORKS was FAITH made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that BY WORKS a man is JUSTIFIED, and NOT by faith only.” Cf. Jn. 6:28-29 The Faith That Saves, Is The Faith That Obeys!

Was Abraham JUSTIFIED BEFORE, or AFTER His Works? Was Abraham Called “The Friend Of God” BEFORE, or AFTER His Works? Cf. Jn. 15:14

Not By Our Own Righteousness, But By God’s Righteousness! Rom. 10:1-3, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for ISRAEL is, that they might be SAVED. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but NOT according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS, and going about to establish THEIR OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, have not submitted themselves unto THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.” Cf. Acts 10:34-35 (Rom. 1:16-17); I Jn. 3:7,10 Are We Saved/Justified By Works?

Phil. 3:8-9, “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 AND BE FOUND IN HIM, NOT HAVING MINE OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, which is OF THE LAW, but that which is through THE FAITH OF CHRIST, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH IS OF GOD BY FAITH.” Cf. vv. 4-7

Not By Works of The Law, But By The Faith of Christ! Gal. 2:16-21, “Knowing that a man is NOT JUSTIFIED BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW, but BY THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have BELIEVED IN JESUS CHRIST, that we might BE JUSTIFIED BY THE FAITH OF CHRIST, and NOT BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW: for BY THE WORKS OF THE LAW shall no flesh BE JUSTIFIED…” Cf. 3:11 (Habak. 2:4), 26-29; 5:6-7 Are We Saved/Justified By Works?

II Tim. 1:9, “Who hath SAVED US, and called us with an holy calling, NOT ACCORDING TO OUR WORKS, but according to HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, which was GIVEN US IN CHRIST JESUS before the world began.” Cf. Gen. 22:18 II Tim. 2:1, “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in THE GRACE that is IN CHRIST JESUS.” Cf. Jn. 1:1, 14, 17; Eph. 1:3; 2:8-10; 6:10 Are We Saved/Justified By Works?
