1 Sports in Italy The Italian racing heritage is almost as long as its history : in almost all sports, both individual and team, Italy can boast of many successes. However, almost all the victories in team sports are a male prerogative, except for volleyball,water polo, and fencing. Italy's national sporting color is blue, borrowed from the heraldic emblem of the house of Savoy, the ruling dynasty from 1861 to 1946.

2 Football F ootball is the most followed sport in Italy. Italian football is among the most excellent in the world, second only to that of Brazil. we won four World Cups (1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006), a European Championship in 1968, a gold medal at the Olympics in Berlin (1936) and two bronze medals (with its young team), the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and 2004 Athens Olympics.
