TENSES 3 Technical Meeting Sunday, April 26 th 2015
Senior High School Debate Competition
General rules 1. The debate will take place between two teams that consist of three persons each 2. Those two teams will be directed as the Government team and the Opposition team 3. The position determination as the Goverment and the Opposition team will be drawn before the competition starts 4. The members of each team will be positioned as the first speaker, the second speaker, and the third speaker before the competition starts. 5. The motion for the elimination round would be given during the Technical Meeting session and the time given for the case - building is 10 minutes. 6. The motion for the final round would be given during before the case - building session ; which is 30 minutes.
CASE BUILDING Construct your case and what your team will debate about. For the elimination round, the time is 10 minutes. For the final round, the time is 30 minutes. Mobile phones, calculator, laptop, printed materials, and any gadgets are forbidden during the case - building and the debate.
INTERRUPTIONS In the preliminary round and the final, allowed participants to convey an interrupt when the speaker is describing his argument. Interruptions maximum time to deliver is 1 ( one ) minute. Interruptions which exceeded the time limit of 30 seconds will be terminated. Request for Interruptions shall be done by raising hands while standing. Interruptions with the permission of the speaker ; after allowed the Interruption done while standing.
WALK OUT Team who comes more than ten minutes late will be counted to walk out on that round. Team that only consists of less than three members is not allowed to join the debate. Team who walks out during the preliminary will not be eligible to be positioned on the final round.
FIRST SPEAKERS OF THE GOVERNMENT TEAM The main responsibilities are : To define and set up the debate To present the team position and case To make one or two arguments FIRST SPEAKER OF THE OPPOSITION TEAM This speaker should : Respond to the Definition and Set - up Allowed to challenge the definition if the definition is not debatable Present the opposition case and position, rebut the PM ’ s case Make one or two arguments
SECOND SPEAKERS IN BOTH TEAMS This speaker is responsible to : Defend their team case ( rebuts ) Attack the case of their opponents Make one or two arguments THIRD SPEAKERS IN BOTH TEAMS Briefly summarize their team ’ s case Summarize and prioritize the most important issues in the debate Analyze those issues
REPLY SPEECH Reply speech may only be given by the first or second speaker in both teams. This speaker is responsible to : Tell everyone what the debate is about Summarize the position of both teams Compare those positions Tell everyone why their team should win

Matter (40%) - The contents of arguments cover the substance of case - Arguments define the examples, cases, evidences, and facts logically. - Arguments could support the team and are strong enough. Arguments include : a. Assertion : Statements and testimonies b. Reasons : Reasons that cover the assertion c. Evidences : evidences and data that support assertion and reason d. Link back : Ability to connect assertion, reasons, and evidences. Judging criteria

Senior High School Love Poem Competition
1.Participants should write their own poem about “LOVE” in English. Plagiarism from any source is very strictly prohibited in this competition. 2.Participants are given 30 minutes to write their script on paper before performing it. (The poem could be prepared at home). 3.The maximum duration of poem reading is 7 minutes. If the participant exceeds the limit, the score would be decreased. 4.Bringing property to enhance the performance is allowed. 5.The committee does not provide any sound system or microphones.

On the 5 minute mark, the committee will knock the table once again to inform that there are only 2 minutes left. 9. The duration will be ended when the committee knocks on the table twice.
Speech Competition Senior High School

Participants must hand in 2 copies of their speech script to the committee before the competition starts Participants must attend 30 minutes before competition starts. News Reading Competition Junior High School
This news reading competition is held for Junior High students Every school may send maximum 3 students for each competition Every participant has to choose one of the topic that are provided by the committee. The topics are: 1) Politics 2) Education 3) Invention The participants that didn’t attend the Technical Meeting will have to agree in all decisions that are decided on Technical Meeting

Participants may ask the synonym of the word, the antonym of the word, or an example of the word used in a sentence. Participants may start spelling the word after the pronouncer says the word. The duration to spell the word is 3 minutes. If the participants misspells the word, the score will be decreased. If the participant exceeds the time limit, the spelling will be considered as a fail. If the participant speaks any Indonesian during the spelling time given, the score will be decreased.
