WHAT IS DIVERSITY? What are some things that everybody has the same of? -Arms, Legs -Eyes -Noses What are some things that are different about people? -Skin, hair, eye color -Body size, how tall we are -Our DNA (Your very own fingerprint!) But what’s the point??? -We are ALL unique in our own ways!
Diversity is not just about the way that our bodies look What else do you think it could be? -Religions -The language we speak -What we want to be when we grow up! -The kind of house that we live in -Our cultures -Our nationality! All you have to do to find diversity is look around the classroom! Or your neighborhood! Or our school! WHAT DOES DIVERSITY LOOK LIKE?

Where did you see similarities between you and your classmates? Let’s share! As a class: What do you guys and gals think of this picture?!
Think about your very own brothers, sisters, cousins, friends…(or anyone else you know) Do you think that you and your family or friends look exactly alike? Do you sound exactly alike? Do you like all of the same things? You guys may be similar, but aren’t you different too?! DIVERSITY OUTSIDE OUR CLASSROOM
When people are diverse: Everything is interesting We get to learn new things The world has all kinds of exciting differences And best of all, Nobody is boring!
