aim Ganaderos desde 1218 aims to provide distributors with a product that is tailored to their needs (formats, presentation, service and price) while maintaining the quality standards that have enabled the companie to grow. I Ganaderos desde 1218 (shepherds since 1218) is our name and also the year of our foundation. Almost 800 years of non interrupted activity related with sheep and lambs.
We market 300,000 lambs per year. All our production comes from our partners and associates’ farms. A total of approximately 500 independent breeders who work exclusively with us. We monitor and advise each farm in order to obtain optimal breeding and we pick them up when they are ready. At our feeding and sorting facilities lambs complete the feeding process and are ready for slaughter. The flagship product is Ternasco de Aragon, though we also have suckling lamb, “commercial” lamb, kid goat and organic lamb. our lambs
ternasco de aragon Ternascos de Aragon are lambs which are fed their mothers’ milk and natural cereals from birth to slaughtering. They are slaughtered before they are 90 days old and the carcass average weight ranges from 8 to 12.5 kg. Only three autochthonous breeds are accepted for production of Ternasco de Aragon. Ternasco de Aragon Lamb, (Protected Geographical Indication for lambs) is the best seller and most wanted meat lamb in Spain.
halal lamb We can carry out Halal slaughter of lambs and label them appropriately.
organic lambs A selected group of our farmers produce organic lambs. All the process is monitored and certified by Regional Authorities.
When the lambs are ready to be consumed, they are taken to Mercazaragoza for slaughter. Once they have been slaughtered and subjected to a drying process, they are sorted again. Those which do not meet the quality standards are separated and the others are distributed according to the tastes and needs of our customers. This way we manage to maintain consistent quality. Although each animal is unique, we try each batch to be as homogeneous as possible and always according to the requirements agreed with our customers. carcasses and meat cuts
packaging Our Cutting and Packaging Room in Mercazaragoza, integrated within the slaughterhouse, enables total processing of product in record time and with minimal handling, which guarantees the original quality of meat is maintained and ensures complete hygiene and traceability.
tray sealing We take special care of product presentation. We ensure that all our packages have a great visual impact. Our packaging machines support both styrofoam and clear plastic trays. We also work with several formats, always adapting to the type of product and quantity desired.

frozen products Ternasco de Aragon, which has been frozen at its source, fully maintains its properties and provides restaurants with a top quality product with no shelf-life issues, at a competitive price that remains constant throughout the year. Frozen products are traditionally associated with poor quality products, usually imported from countries such as New Zealand. However, it has important advantages such as preservation and price.
