3 English a Multicultural Language Language is arguably the most important component of culture because much of the rest of it is normally transmitted orally. It is impossible to understand the subtle nuances and deep meanings of another culture without knowing its language well.

6 Multicultural Teaching The EFL Portuguese syllabus has as a language teaching goal: the contact with different peoples and societies, in order to promote the understanding of different cultures as a way of developing students multicultural communication skills. 7 Teaching Strategies  Viewing the film “Outsourced”  Group work: students watch the film in order to identify the differences and similarities between the American and the Indian cultures, according to the guidelines. guidelines  After the written reflection the students will give an oral presentation about their findings and produce a mind map.
