2  Sadness and Crying "Therefore I will wail and howl, I will go stripped and naked: I will make a wailing like the jackals and mourning as the ostriches.“ Micah 1:8  Desolation and Emptiness “I am a brother to jackals, And a companion to ostriches“ Job 30:29.

4  Uninhabitable Places "But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and ostriches shall dwell there, and wild goats shall dance there“ Isa 13:21 "Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited forever; neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation“ Jer 50:39

7 13 "The wings of the ostrich wave proudly, but are they the pinions and plumage of love? 14 For she leaves her eggs to the earth and lets them be warmed on the ground, 15 forgetting that a foot may crush them and that the wild beast may trample them. 16 She deals cruelly with her young, as if they were not hers; though her labor be in vain, yet she has no fear, 17 because God has made her forget wisdom and given her no share in understanding. 18 When she rouses herself to flee, she laughs at the horse and his rider.

8  Proud to wave her beautiful plumage.  Leaving her eggs.  Indifferent to her children’s potential to be crushed.  Hardened to her children as if they are not hers.  Has no caution, no fear – so, no understanding  She runs quickly away

9 1 How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street. 2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! 3 Even the jackals draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. Lamentations 4:1-3 Her cruelty? Her indifference and inaction!

17  Their Education in Godliness  Doing Unto Them as We Would Want for Ourselves  Their Classroom Situation

18  Not like the Ostrich, Job 39:16, 17  Watch over those eggs. Feed those chicks. 1 Thess 2:7, 8a – “But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share not only the gospel of God but our own selves” Ask “How are You?”, then listen carefully.

19 Note their hardships and seek to ease these Ecclesiastes 12  V 3 – “keepers of the house tremble”; “strong men bent”; “grinders cease”  V5 “afraid of what is high”; “terrors in the way”  V5 “grasshopper drags itself along”
