Spontaneous breathing trials (SBT) 2. SIMV 3. PSV  Novel modes with no data to support  VSV = volume support ventilation, MMV= mandatory minute volume ventilation, ATC = automatic tube compensation, PAV = proportional assist ventilation **Systematic review: 1 SBT per day has shown best results
