2 Capitalism  Capitalism is an economic system in which private people, not the government, own and run companies.  In a capitalist system, private households need goods. They buy these goods from the income they have. Some households have more income than others.  This is the type of economy we have

3 How governments regulate economy  A government must make sure that there is enough competition to deep prices low, the quality products high.  If only a few companies produce products they may agree to keep prices high.

4 Limits of Regulation  When the government starts controlling parts of a free economy or a capitalistic like our own that’s when it starts pushing its limit  full control is too far  The balance is hard to find  “that government is best which governs least” (on the duty of civil disobedience)  So is there really a balance?

7 Regulation of business  Market Failure is an argument for the government regulation of business recognizes that a free market usually enables people to do the best that can be done.  Advocates of the “market failure” approach contend that there are some serious exceptions.
