BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR God shows up (Job 38:1 – 3) God puts Job in his place (Job 38:4 - 39:30) God’s majesty renders Job speechless (Job 40:1 – 5) Job got what he asked for and God shows up!
GOD SHOWS UP Job 38:1 – 3 In a whirlwind – to humble not destroy “Dress for action like a man.” Rival claim to His throne “I will question you and you make it known to me.” Pop quiz time!
GOD SHOWS UP Has God ever spoken to you? A time God spoke to me Does God mind our questions and even our anger? Jeremiah 33:3, Philippians 4:6-7, James 1:5-6, Psalm 50:15, Matthew 7:7-8 No matter what we’re going through, keep God on His throne.
GOD PUTS JOB IN HIS PLACE Job 38:4-39:30 To educate Job, not humiliate him Oral science exam – cosmology, oceanography, meteorology, astronomy, zoology Verse 21 – Sarcasm by God: “You know, you were born then” Commentary explains all of this well God’s purpose: For Job to put God back on His throne Parent/child relationship

GOD’S MAJESTY RENDERS JOB SPEECHLESS Job 40:1-5 “Shall a faultfinder contend with God?” – Contend=bring a lawsuit God: Do you still want a lawsuit? Earlier in book, Job almost equaled himself to God – boasted that he would approach God as a prince (31:37). “Behold I am of small account”; “I lay my hand on my mouth” - Job 40:4 - Job is speechless
GOD’S MAJESTY RENDERS JOB SPEECHLESS Have you ever been humbled by God? God’s purpose is not to humiliate but to keep God on His throne. One of the first times in my life that happened Philippians 4:7 – Keeping God on His throne gives you peace beyond all understanding “Be still and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

Will you choose to keep God on his throne by: Writing down all you have to be thankful for Journaling your past spiritual markers Writing down and memorizing verses that have helped you in the past Letting God speak to you – daily time with God, however that looks Gathering some prayer warriors
