God shows up Has God ever spoken to you? A time God spoke to me Does God mind our questions and even our anger? Jeremiah 33:3, Philippians 4:6-7, James 1:5-6, Psalm 50:15, Matthew 7:7-8 No matter what we’re going through, keep God on His throne.

Earlier in book, Job almost equaled himself to God – boasted that he would approach God as a prince (31:37). “Behold I am of small account”; “I lay my hand on my mouth” - Job 40:4 - Job is speechless

10/7/2014 GOD’S MAJESTY RENDERS JOB SPEECHLESS Have you ever been humbled by God? God’s purpose is not to humiliate but to keep God on His throne. One of the first times in my life that happened Philippians 4:7 – Keeping God on His throne gives you peace beyond all understanding “Be still and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10 As you prepare to study Job, I’d like you to reflect on a few questions, because I think they will help you create a framework for our study: How assess strength of faith – if you were to encounter tragedy in your life, would it bring you closer to God or drive you away? Recall a time...? What did it feel like? What were your thoughts? Comfort a friend…? Was it awkward? Did you feel helpless? Were you more interested in “fixing the problem” vs. being a good listener? Blessings entitled…? If your home, belongings, job, loved one were suddenly taken away from you, would you feel God was being unfair? Tough questions… but I think God takes us outside our comfort zone in order for us to grow in our faith. And when we consider the eternal nature of God, his power that created the entire universe and all that is in it, and that His plan includes a path for each one of us to spend eternity in His heaven… then we can embrace the notion that…

Will you choose to keep God on his throne by: Writing down all you have to be thankful for Journaling your past spiritual markers Writing down and memorizing verses that have helped you in the past Letting God speak to you – daily time with God, however that looks Gathering some prayer warriors As you prepare to study Job, I’d like you to reflect on a few questions, because I think they will help you create a framework for our study: How assess strength of faith – if you were to encounter tragedy in your life, would it bring you closer to God or drive you away?
