P SALMS 122:1-9 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. 2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. 3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: 4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. 5. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.

3. P SALMS 122:1-9 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

4. D AVID WAS G LAD TO G O TO THE H OUSE OF THE L ORD I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord – v 1 Apostles had great joy after seeing Jesus ascend into heaven. Luke 24:52-53

5. D AVID WAS G LAD TO G O TO THE H OUSE OF THE L ORD Pentecost – 3000 full of joy – Acts 2:41-42– Why were they glad? – They were children of God Galatians 3:26-27

6. D AVID WAS G LAD TO G O TO THE H OUSE OF THE L ORD Why should we be glad today? God is here – Matthew 18:20 – For where two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

7. D AVID WAS T HANKFUL …. Verse 4 – Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel to GIVE THANKS. David had the opportunity to give thanks

8. D AVID WAS T HANKFUL …. What are we thankful for today? We have victory over sin – 1 Corinthians 15:57 Every perfect gives comes from God – James 1:16-17

9. D AVID WAS T HANKFUL …. We should give thanks ! Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.

10. D AVID WAS IN A WE …. Verse 5 – “for there (in the house of the Lord) are set thrones of judgment. David was in awe, or wonder coupled with fear, that he was in the presence of God.

11. D AVID WAS IN A WE …. W e should be in awe in the presence of God –M–M atthew 10:28 –H–H ebrews 10:31 – It is a fearful thing to fall in the hands of the living God. –H–H ebrews 12:25-29 – God is a consuming fire

12. D AVID F OUND P EACE …. In verses 6-7 David talks about the peace within the walls and palaces of Jerusalem. He prayed for the peace of God’s people.

13. D AVID F OUND P EACE …. W e find peace in the House of God today –1–1 Corinthians 14:33 –J–J ohn 14:27 W e have peace on earth with God helping us

14. We find: Peace between the brethren – 1 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally brethren, farewell, Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of Love and peace shall be with you.

15. D AVID F OUND P EACE …. W e find peace in knowing we are right with God. J ohn 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. P hilippians 4:9 – If we do God’s will we have peace.
