Draw Near Unto Me “Draw near unto me and I will draw near unto you.” D & C 88:63
An Evening of Reverent Reflection To allow the Spirit to be felt by all, please refrain from speaking or whispering during this presentation.
The scriptures relate the story of a young woman who was chosen to be the mother of the Savior of the world. And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, Luke 1: To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Ponder on Mary’s example of obedience and faith. How can we make Mary’s example part of our lives? She simply replied: “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.”
Consider her reaction - She did not question, hesitate, argue or doubt. What would you have done?
Joseph also was obedient to the Lord’s command. He loved Jesus as if he was his very own.
Mortal, yet divine
If the World Could Live as Jesus Taught
John 15:12-13 “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
This is Jesus! He is in this very room
He Loves you.
He is knocking at your door.
He Was Born for You
He Suffered for You
He Lives for you
All we have to do is reach up to take his hand,
because he is right there waiting for you.
May we remember the reason for the season. And carry His love with us always.
Please join together in singing Silent Night.
Silent Night! Holy Night! All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and Child. Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace; Sleep in heavenly peace.
