2  September revenue update: -$520M shortfall  Governor required to make across the board (ATB) cuts  All general fund appropriations reduced by 6.287%  SCC’s share = $1.36M in FY 2011  Legislature can adjust, however…  “You should consider these to be your budget reductions for this year and plan accordingly.”

3  Lapse salaries  ATB reduction: Goods/Services/Travel  Shift current positions to “soft” money  Shift current non-personnel expenditures to non-state funding sources  Reduce contingency funds  One-time “carry over” funds  Set funds aside on October 1 st

4  Revenue forecast: -$385 million shortfall  Additional 4.6% ATB cut (on top of 6.3%)  SCC: additional $1 million cut for current fiscal year

5  Governor, Democrat and Republican proposals honor maintenance-of-effort (MOE) threshold  Cut with MOE in place: ~3.8%  Special session: Saturday, December 11 th

6  November projections: $5.7 billion shortfall  Projected for : additional 18% reduction (SCC: $3.7 million)  Additional reductions through FY 2013 likely
