2 Block Grant Scheme (BGS) For Non-Plan only. Applicable for five years w.e.f. FY2012-13. Actuals for FY2010-11 serve as base. Institutes expected to generate 20% of Non- Plan from own sources

3 Block Grant Scheme (BGS) contd. Block Grant per student for FY2010-11 works out to Rs. 2.5 lakh for IITs (Rs. 4.6 lakh for IISc Bangalore). Block Grant for subsequent years indexed based on inflation.
