AREA 51 Top secret government Military base operated by the U.S. Air Force Located in Southern Nevada, U.S. Location for the development and testing of experimental aircrafts and weapons systems. The intense secrecy has created many conspiracy theories about UFOs and Aliens
TOP SECRET Government has kept the overall location a secret The government has refused to declare area 51 a secret base Government would deny any activity occurring in this location In 2005, the CIA publically announced the existence of Area 51
THE PROPOSAL The government should keep Area 51 top secret For national security reasons For fear that this information can cause fear, chaos, and paranoia
OPPOSITION The opposition might say that the general public has a right to know The general public does not have to know everything Some things are better off kept a secret Keeping Area 51 top secret benefits the nation more than it will benefit the general public
EXAMPLES In December 2009, the Transportation Security Administration had published online the procedures for screening airline passengers and luggage. This information should of stayed a secret because passengers could use this knowledge to sneak in illegal substances or even weapons and explosives. Wen Ho Lee was accused of shifting top secret information on the development, design, and tests of US nuclear weapons into a computer network where china could acquire the information. This in turn helped china move forward with the designing of their nuclear weapons. Without this information china would of never been where they are now in designing nuclear weapons.
ACTION Keeping Area 51 top secret is the best solution It will protect the nation Maintain national security Prevent any chaos or commotion Overall, it is for the good of the public
THE FINAL DECISION The government has done a great job maintaining Area 51 as top secret All these statements are reasons why the government decided to keep Area 51 hidden from the public In the end, the government found the best possible solution that will benefit the U.S. as a whole
