7. Children with down syndrome in Ukraine Every year more than 400 children are born with Down syndrome in Ukraine. Parents abandon 85% of these children at birth because of misinformation about the possibilities of the child. Most doctors claim that children with Down syndrome are classified as uneducable Most people have a misconception about the nature of Down syndrome. No early intervention service for children with Down syndrome and their families
