The J OURNAL Server’s extraction processes Require SQL Server as a temporary store for records selected and retrieved from the Archive. SQL Server interacts with the J OURNAL Client software, Crystal Reports, et al, to yield ad hoc analyses of the archive’s contents. Archived data are not accessible to a database management system. Today’s Three-Tier Software — Advantages for its Users Dispatching Operations Need Never be Changed to Accommodate the Computer! Repeat: Dispatching Operations Change Only As and When Merited! The behavior of systems can almost always be altered and extended by local technical staff! If Outside Staff are Needed, Cost Will Be Vastly Less than for Older Designs.
