30-35 Revolutions Mix Both Components RESIN MIXING TIME

RESIN SYSTEMS TYPE OF RESIN MIX TIME or SPIN TIME HOLD TIME WHAT IS GEL TIME ? WHAT IS CURE TIME ?

WHAT GEL TIME ? GEL TIME IS THE TIME IT TAKES RESIN TO REACH A PASTE, OR SEMISOLID STATE. ( THIS USUALLY TAKES APPROXIMATELY SECONDS ) GEL TIME = SPIN TIME + HOLD TIME

WHAT CURE TIME ? CURE TIME IS THE TIME IT TAKES RESIN TO REACH ABOUT % OF ITS FINAL STRENGTH ( THIS USUALLY TAKES APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES )

GEL TIME AS A FUNCTION OF TEMPERATURE

TYPICAL SYSTEMS 1” (#5 REBAR) 5/8” DIA REBAR 0.9” DIA CARTRIDGE 1” DIA BORE 3/16” ANNULUS…… 1” (#6 REBAR) 3/4” DIA REBAR 0.9” DIA CARTRIDGE 1” DIA BORE 1/8” ANNULUS……… 1- 3/8” (#7 REBAR) 7/8” DIA REBAR 1-1/4” DIA CARTRIDGE 1-3/8” DIA BORE 1/4” ANNULUS………

WHAT IS ANCHORAGE ? ANCHORAGE MEANS HOW WELL A BOLT IS ANCHORED IN THE ROOF. WE WANT THE ANCHORAGE ZONE OF THE BOLT TO BE GREATER THAN THE ULTIMATE STRENGTH OF THE BOLT. ( DURING A PULL TEST, WE WANT TO BREAK THE BOLT INSTEAD OF PULLING IT OUT OF THE MINE ROOF )

RESIN ANCHORAGE RELATED TO COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF ROCK

WHAT IS RESIN SHOW ? ( ON FULLY GROUTED RESIN BOLTS) RESIN SHOW IS WHEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF EXCESS RESIN APPEARS BETWEEN THE BOLT HEAD AND PLATE. RESIN SHOW IS CAUSED, BECAUSE THERE IS APPROXIMATELY 6% MORE RESIN BY VOLUME THAN THE VOLUME OF THE ANNULUS AROUND THE BOLT. A LACK OF RESIN SHOW CAN MEAN A BAD INSTALLATION

COMMON MISTAKES WHEN INSTALLING RESIN BOLTS DRILL HOLE TOO DEEP DRILL HOLE TOO LARGE IN DIA. SPINNING BOLT TOO LONG. RESPINNING BOLT AFTER HOLD TIME. BOLT SPACING NOT ACCORDING TO ROOF CONTROL PLAN. OVER TORQUING BOLT DURING INSTALLATION.

STORAGE OF RESIN KEEP IN A COOL, DRY PLACE. AVOID DOUBLE STACKING. AFFECTED BY HIGH STORAGE TEMPERATURE. UNAFFECTED BY FREEZING.

SHELF LIFE QC PRODUCTS 6 MONTHS ALL OTHERS 1 YEAR SHELF LIFE CAN BE EXTENDED UP TO TWO MONTHS, BUT ONLY BY THE RESIN MANUFACTOR AFTER TESTS HAVE BEEN PREFORMED.
