Fire Safety Although the evacuation arrangements will differ in each building you should make yourself aware of the arrangements in that area. When entering a new building/room take note of the fire exit locations. Familiarise yourself with the Emergency Action sign on the back of all exit doors.
Evacuation Evacuate quickly but calmly, ensuring that all fire doors are closed behind you. Usher students/staff/visitors along the evacuation route as you leave. Report to the designated Assembly Point Report anyone that you know is missing DO NOT re-enter the building until you have been informed to do so by someone in authority.
PEEP’s & Safe Refuges If you require assistance during an evacuation you should inform your line manager. We will then complete a ‘Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan’ (PEEP) for you The PEEP will detail how your evacuation will take place This may include the use of Safe Refuges or other equipment such as Deaf Watch.
