Checking Versions Used on File Where do you find this? What do they mean? Why is it important to know this?
Upgrade Paths What are the upgrade paths Keep up to date with the latest service packs (have these on separate disk for your own use)
General Maintenance Prior to Upgrade Verify & Rebuild your datafile –Verify & Rebuild your datafile Check QBWIN.log –CTRL 1, then CTRL 2, then Open File –Look over the QBWIN.log to ensure no errors are present –Fix any areas that say need attention. Exporting reports –Export TB, P & L & Balance Sheet reports (using ALL Dates) to Excel prior to upgrade.
General Maintenance Prior to Upgrade…contd Are there any online banking transactions to be exported? Is there an Accountant Copy created? Do you have copies of the memorised reports and memorised templates and transactions? Use the Audit Company File? Have you made a Backup your Datafile?

Additional Tips and Tricks Be prepared and organised before going onsite Is it easier or relevant to do the upgrade offsite (no downtime for client and less stressful for you) Does the client require the data to be smaller using the Clean up company file tool? – this is new in 10/11 – re condensing, or archives.
