Outline : It is the on-line account transfer transaction between domestic & overseas branch that fulfills the foreign exchange management policy of the country and locale restrictions by converting outward & inward remittance (in aspect of domestic branch) into account deposit and payment concept so that it is on-line account deposit & withdrawal transaction for customer but it is implemented in outward & inward remittance in aspect of bank and it is the service provided to individual customer concluded the Global On-Line Contract at domestic branch to fulfill the foreign exchange management policy of Korea. B. User : It is individual in real name who are overseas worker, student studying abroad and short-term traveler concluded Global On-Line service contract in domestic branch * Transaction of balance inquiry, etc except the domestic account deposit & payment is available although he is not Global On-Line Service Contract customer C. 4 4) Fee Collection & Profit Attribution Current outward & inward remittance fee and overseas fee is applied as fee. Foreign exchange sale & purchase profit is attributed to domestic branch that performs the deposit & payment procedures. Main Q&A Relevant to Global On-Line Service ㅇ Is service registration by family or proxy available? ㅇ Do I need to bring in bank book or seal of withdrawal account? You do not need to. Most of overseas branches do not use bank book and seal. Of course, there is no task regarding the bank book & seal as well and no bank book organizer. ㅇ Isn ’ t there daily limit or yearly limit for the service? There is no daily limit or yearly limit but limit per transaction (payment at overseas branch: amount equivalent to USD 1,000 per transaction for traveler, USD 10,000 per transaction for student studying abroad and employee of Korean company, deposit from overseas branch: amount equivalent to USD 20,000 per transaction). ㅇ Do student studying abroad or employee of Korean company needs to designate foreign exchange transaction bank separately? It should be designated separately. Registration as student studying abroad or employee in Korean company is separate transaction with customer registration of the service. It is available. Real name confirmer on real name financial transaction is the staff (including employee with contract, part-time employee and sub-contract employee) of branch (including operating department of headquarter) given with authority & obligation for the real name confirmation. Therefore, application confirmed of real name from overseas branch is valid as well.
5 ㅇ Is there a remittance management no. system relevant to overseas deposit or payment of domestic account? For the internal management of the service, remittance no. is numbered and managed as following. - Withdrawal from domestic account at overseas branch (outward remittance) : 5639-ITG-××××× - Deposit to domestic account at overseas branch (inward remittance incoming) : 5639-OTG-××××× The management no. is used in bank book organization or performance management. ㅇ Does the service perform filtering relevant to OFAC? Internal management of the service is same as outward & inward remittance. Filter relevant to OFAC is performed same as other remittance transaction. 4. Domestic Account Overseas Deposit & Withdrawal Service Computation Control Method (KIBS) A. Type of Transaction 1) Deposit Transaction of Domestic Account (outward remittance transaction in overseas branch) - It is same as deposit transaction except the transaction limit is USD 20,000 or less 2) Domestic Account Balance Inquiry Transaction - It is balance inquiry transaction for domestic account and transaction is available in all overseas branches 3) Transaction Amount Inquiry - Inquiry on estimate of remittance amount and account withdrawal amount based on domestic exchange rate at the time of transaction 4) Cancellation in Domestic Account Withdrawal/ Deposits - It is the internal transaction for protection of staff giving opportunity for adjustment due to operating error of teller. - Therefore, it cannot be cancelled with the request of customer - Since the cancellation of the transaction has influence on position of KEB H. O. and transaction is only available for the same date based on Seoul, be cautious in handling the cancellation process. Ex) A. Performance of payment transaction at business hour of Canada at 09:00 (Seoul Time: Day 23:00) B. Cancellation at 11:00 with discovery of operating error after 2 hours (Seoul Time: D+1 day 01:00) → In this case, cancellation cannot be done since date has changed based on Seoul time B. Account Payment Transaction (ITG) It is the withdrawal transaction from domestic account at overseas branch. It is inward remittance in aspect of overseas branch and it is outward remittance for KEB H.O. Transaction operation is same as previous “ Inward Remittance Credit Customer a/c ” and item added according to the confirmation of domestic customer is input according to following explanation. It is designed to process in order from pre-transaction with trait of in-advance recognition to main transaction. -Pre-Transaction : It is the in-advance recognition transaction that determines the performance and cancellation of main transaction by confirming if the customer is the legal global on-line contract. customer can find out about estimate withdrawal amount from account based on domestic exchange rate - Main Transaction : Transaction reflecting the domestic receipt ledger on account withdrawal and inward remittance ledger within KIBS (In case exchange rate is re-announced between pre-transaction and main transaction, account withdrawal can be changed)
6 * Account Payment Transaction (ITG) – Screen & Operation Explanation 1) Item 1 and Item 4 is the inward remittance within KIBS and it is operated same as previous ITT 2) Item 2 is the screen to input details of Global On-Line service contract for each customer A. Customer No : Column to input resident registration no. with Global On-Line contract customer no. B. Account No : Input domestic withdrawal account no. ( 11 ~ 13 digits) C. Pin-Pad : It presents the use of Pin-Pad and PIN No. is input through Pin-Pad if this column is already indicated and PIN No. is input by keyboard if this column is not indicated (when Pin-Pad using branch input PIN No. with keyboard, it is singular transaction target) D. 7 3)Item 3 presents the Global Service contact registered in Korea at pre-transaction and overseas branch substitutes the real name confirmation by contrasting the passport customer presents at the window with this item and safekeeping the copy of passport and deposit request in binding for the verification in the future A. Ordering Name & Address : Name in passport & domestic address of customer input in contract in Korea B. Account Deposit Transaction Operating Method It is the deposit transaction to domestic account from overseas branch. It is outward remittance in aspect of overseas branch and inward remittance for KEB H. O. Transaction operation is same as previous “ Outward Remittance Credit Customer a/c ” and item added based on the confirmation of domestic customer is input as following explanation. Customer : Input customer no. of beneficiary and skip if there is no customer no. When customer no. is skipped, Ordering Customer is indicated blank, and Global On- Line customer name is set internally in case it is blank.
8 B. Remitting Amount/Commission Currency : Input currency, amount, commission relevant to outward remittance C. Credit Details : Input information relevant to process after cash payment, account transfer or substituting process D. Headquarter ’ s Payment Information Input resident registration no., deposit account no. and Global On-Line contract Pin No. For the Pin-Pad using branch, client directly inputs the Pin No. E. Beneficiary : Input name of depositor for deposit account in English. Input name on passport for the Global On-Line contract customer. (requirement) * Deposit to self & other account is available. Therefore, equality that global contract customer is same as account holder is not established. Thus, beneficiary item must be input manually and customer name for global contract is internally set if Ordering Customer Global is not input. Click OK button after putting above matters in. Then, balance after deposit and real name information in output on screen as following page if there is no error in Global On-Line contract, accordance of Pin No., availability of deposit, etc after verification in domestic system.
9 5. Overseas Account Domestic Deposit & Withdrawal Service Computation Operating Method (KIBS) A. Type of Transactions ■ Registration of contract information on GOL remittance client Transaction for in-advance registration of overseas branch outward remittance, real name confirmation and withdrawal account information. ■ Registration of information on GOL remittance contract fee In case of GOL remittance transaction, the fee is registered and manage for 3 transactions at maximum and it can be registered by selecting it for each group. ■ GOL outward remittance (withdrawal from account) & cancellation After verification based on foreign exchange outward remittance through input medium (domestic integration terminal), automatic processing of withdrawal transaction from account or cancellation processing for withdrawal are completed. ■ GOL inward remittance (deposit to account) & cancellation. After verification based on foreign exchange inward remittance through input medium (domestic integration terminal), automatic processing of deposit transaction to account or cancellation processing for deposit are completed. ■ GOL contract information of customer & balance inquiry Contract information of customer registered in foreign countries and information on balance can be inquired regarding the overseas account.
