The Day Joy Appeared
Luke 2:10-11: “The angel said, "Don't be afraid. I'm here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide:
A Savior has just been born in David's town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master.”
As daring as that rescue is it doesn’t even close to the rescue that came on the night when Joy appeared in Bethlehem.
Today let’s celebrate Jesus’ coming to Bethlehem.
Today let’s celebrate that His Spirit is still coming to us.
HE STILL COMES TO US!
John 14: “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--the Spirit of truth.
The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”
John 14:26- “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
John 15:26-“When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.”
Spirit of truth
He lives with you and will be in you
will teach you all things
will remind you of everything I have said to you.
will testify about me
What is so great about this joy that comes from Jesus?
Jesus rescues us from a happiness that depends on circumstances.
Jesus rescues us from a happiness that depends on others.
Jesus rescues us from a happiness that depends on things.
Jesus rescues us and takes us into the arms of the Heavenly Father.
His joy is a pure joy that comes straight from God.
His joy is everlastingly available.
His joy is for all people.
His joy comes from a Savior, a deliverer who is the Lord of the universe.
“If you want me to believe in your Redeemer, then you’ve got to look a lot more redeemed.”
Is there something that is you stealing your joy?
